There's ~24 hours before works go live, so this is last call for last minute edits, making sure you have your final version uploaded, tweaking your summary, wrangling with your title, and so on.

I want to send out two reminders about signups, though, to keep all the bases covered.


* Only DNWs (Do Not Wants) that are in your signup form on AO3 need to be followed by your assigned creator, remember! Although creators, feel free to keep letter DNWs in mind if you want to, but they aren't binding. This is totally because letters can be edited later but not signups on AO3.

* Your DNWs are for letting your creator know that there's subjects you don't like or aren't comfortable with receiving for a gift, whether that's animal balloons or explicit fanworks or certain types of tropes (AUs, fluff, pregnancy fic, so on). DNWs are not meant to box in your creator and limit them to only creating one or two very specific potential subjects. You may give prompts and suggestions, of course! But they're only prompts and suggestions. Attempting to box your creator in to a particular interpretation of a character/relationship/trope runs into the Don't Be A Jerk rule. Don't do that.

I have to step out for a while this evening and I've been out parts of the day. There's a pile of new noms, which are still not following my instructions to disambiguate tags.

I got a PM from a nominator, it seems that AO3 has synned some games from larger series into the overarching series name, so if you try to nominate using the single game name and the overarching series is already approved, it automatically locks the new nominations into the greater whole.

This isn't optimal, for obvious reasons. D:

So if you have a nomination that locked you into a full series, and you want a specific game, please let me know! I can sort it out for you. :) If you've had it happen already and I didn't realise it, also let me know and I'll work on it.

For those curious, the tag collision in question was "Kingdom Hearts" and "Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep". Luckily the Birth By Sleep nominator disambiguated their character and group noms and I could sort them out!


Speaking of disambiguations, there are several nominations which require disambig tags before they get approved. I'll be putting up the first official nominations clarification post some time this evening, please keep an eye out for it :D

Some nominations guidelines:

* Nominations will be four fandoms, up to six relationships and/or characters, and relationship tags can be / or &. That means any six tags per fandom, whether six individual characters, gen and/or shippy groups, or a mix.

* The tag set is using the Character field, please nominate gen or shippy combos as "Group: A/B" or "Group: A & B", etc.


What about series/franchises/games with sequels?

I'm not going to police how folks might want their offers or requests, they can be as narrow or as broad as you like. :) That said, some guidelines:

* If a game belongs to a greater franchise, has sequels or prequels, or is otherwise part of a larger set, please keep your preferences in mind and nom to suit.

For example, if you wanted to offer or receive a work for Final Fantasy VII, but only the original game, nominate "Final Fantasy VII". If you would like the Compilation as an option, nominate "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII".

Please make sure that characters which are from umbrella canon sets don't get nominated where they don't actually belong! (For example, Genesis Rhapsodos for anything other than Compilation of FFVII, Crisis Core, etc. since he's not from the original game.)

I would also recommend specifying exactly what you're looking for in the case of multiple game variations, for example the Birthright-Conquest-Revelation trio of Fire Emblem Fates. Of course if you really would be fine with any of those (for example), leaving off the specifics is also fine!


* Please disambiguate your character and group nominations! There's a good chance of characters repeating from one fandom nomination to another, and disambiguations will help me keep them where they need to be.

For example, and going back to Final Fantasy VII:

- If you are nominating Cloud for the original game, add (FFVII) or the like to his name.
- If you are nominating Cloud for the Compilation, add (Compilation).
- If you are nominating Cloud for Dissidia Opera Omnia, add (DOO) or (Opera Omnia) or etc.

I would also like to see groups disambiguated, for the same reasons.

Nominations without a disambiguation tag attached will be rejected, so please re-check your noms before submitting them! If you aren't sure, feel free to ask :) There will be nomination clarification posts going up as noms continue on, questions are fine there too.
